Read more: Worth It?

“It was a sunny day, why wouldn’t we go to the lake? It’s the only body of water within our area”

“But you knew I only learned to swim the month before. It was also packed shoulder to shoulder, everyone in the area had the same idea I guess.”

“Well it was the heat record in Arizona, 103º. Everyone else was normal, you were the one that was insane.”

“How was I insane? For me not wanting to drown?”

“No, for you wanting to die of heat exhaustion, seriously use your head sometimes, it was 100. How was it my fault for suggesting that? You could’ve just dipped your feet in, but no, you wanted to grab the ball floating far outside of the buoys.”

“There was a basketball net just sitting there, no one shooting on it, no ball in sight. So I took it upon myself to get a ball. You know how much I love basketball, I couldn’t help it. It was irresistible.”

”Yeah I know, but was it worth it?”

“I know since I’ve had so much time to recall and reflect on it. I’ve realized.”

”You got to give it to me though, for a person who learned to swim just a month ago, I was gliding through that water.”

”Yeah, while swallowing about a gallon of water, you shouldn’t have done it.”

“But”

“There is no just reason for you to do that, especially for what happened after, I miss spending time with you. You’re so far away now.”

“I know, whenever you’re not visiting me, I miss you. My spirit just sits here.”

“Can I hug you?”

”I can’t hug you anymore.”

“Why not”

“Because I’m still at the bottom of the lake.”

“I always forget. I miss you”
