Working on a Plan…

Journal #1

We are finally in the swing of things concerning the capstone project! Personally, I think that doing this project instead of having another 3 classes to take finals on at the end of the year is great. Well, it will only be great if we put enough time and hard work into it. First, I thought that the book that we were given to read: Under a White Sky, by Elizabeth Kolbert, was a great one. It had a lot of key info about the world, but specifically America’s animal and plant habitats and ecosystems. Sometimes it got a bit confusing, but it was still cool to learn more about this topic. Second, since today was the official start day of the project, me and my team were able to make some good progress by sending an email to the heads of Mass Audubon, or at least our project that asked them if we could interview them or if they could make it to our final project: a 16-minute Ted-Talk. What I am hoping to do for homework over the next couple of days is to finish the infographic and book reflection.

Journal #2

Sadly, I have been missing a lot of the important capstone periods for the last few days because of a fever that I had today and on Thursday. I kind of regret not coming to school, though, because when taking medicine I feel a lot better. Anyways, even though I haven’t been able to come to school for the past few days, I have been keeping up with all of the capstone assignments for the most part. This is my last reflection for week two, I’ve completed the book reflection, and our group has completed the email to the leaders of Mass Audubon, which is the organization that I am working with. Speaking of the email to the people at Mass Audubon, they’ve already replied to us with dates for the interview and they’ve put May 31st, the date for our final presentation, on their calendars. Finally, when it comes to catching up on work, some things that I need to do over the weekend and while I am sick are to get in touch with my partners to see what we are doing with the infographic and figure out what the weekly documentation is.
