Where there are Princesses and Dragons

It was just a normal Saturday afternoon, I was eating lunch with my friends at Sorrento’s Pizza place. I was with Eggy, Joe, and Hector and we were all eating and having a great time. After we had all finished eating we were getting ready to head over to the ice cream shop because it was the middle of July and it was burning 98 degrees outside.

But as we got to the shop we all went inside to find that there was nobody in the shop. The sign clearly said that it was open so this was mind bogglingly weird. But then a weird noise started playing from the bathroom, we all went over to find a hole in the ground that kind of looked like a portal. I was nervous but Joe wasn’t scared so he went over to it but tripped and fell into the hole. Then Egg  jumped in after him so Hector and I jumped in too.

We all fell and fell and fell until I saw some sort of land mass in the distance below me. There was a lake so I started moving my body over to where I could land in the water to break my fall. Hector on the other hand was unconscious so I pulled him along with me so we could both not die. KERRSPLOOSHHH!!  We both got up and looked around. We were in some sorts of medieval land from the hobbit or something. There were lush forests of bushes and trees, and on the horizon there was an enormous tower with a tiny spec at the top of it. I was really confused but then Hector said, “Not gonna lie, that kinda looks like Egg.” When I looked closer I could make out an Egg-like shape jumping up and down waving his arms at us. “Well, we should start heading in that direction.” I said, and when Hector agreed we started our adventure to save Egg.

As we pressed on to find Egg, I was thinking about how we hadn’t seen Joe after he had fallen in. Maybe he fell somewhere else. Either way we needed to find both of them. As we were walking, we came across a massive gate that was closed, and there were walls on either end that made it seem that the only way through was the gate. There was one other person there, he said his name was Daniel, and he was the gatekeeper of the Dark World. We told him that our friend Egg was trapped in a tower on the other side of the gate and we needed to get to him. But he warned us because on the other side of that gate, monsters awaited us, almost as if they knew we needed to go there. But Daniel aided us with armor and weapons. We thanked him and he opened the door to the dark world.

As we walked through the forest there were creepy noises that freaked the living goobies out of me. Hector was moderately scared but not too much. There were many pairs of eyes looking at us as we walked through the forest. But as we got to a clearing, something emerged from the bushes. It was an ogre. He growled at us and swung his club at us. I dodged it but Hector got bonked on the noggin. He fell over like a ragdoll, so it was up to me now. I sprinted at him and plunged my sword into his leg, he cried out in pain and tried to get away but I pulled the sword out and stabbed his other leg too. He fell to the ground and disintegrated into a pile of black and purple goo.   

We pressed on and made it to the edge of a massive pit. There was the tower, in the center of the pit with no way of getting to it. But just as we were about to give up, a magical light shined from above us, it was the magical wizard Jonas! He cast a spell which made a bridge appear from thin air. He thanked him dearly and went on our way.

As we got to the tower a bellowing voice rang out. “WHO GOES THERE?” I turned around to see a gargantuan dragon with the facial features of Joe. “Joe?” I responded to him. “NO I AM NOT JOE ANYMORE, I AM THE ALMIGHTY GALANTESON!” Hector, who just wanted to go home at this point, charged at him but the dragon knocked him into the pit. I yelled for him but he didn’t respond as he fell into the pit. I am getting mad now. The whole reason we were in the place was because Joe took one step too far and fell into the pit, and now he was stopping us from getting out. I charged him and when he breathed his fiery breath at me I rolled out of the way and stabbed him in the pinky toe. He yelled but that did almost nothing. But then, when almost all hope was lost. Hector came back in a B52 Bomber and started raining bombs all over him. He shrieked and tried to get out but it was too much. He tripped and fell into the pit, never to be seen again. Just then, Princess Egg floated down from the tower and was happy to be freed. Hector landed his plane and got everyone in before we started flying back home.

On the way back Egg told us about how he had landed in the tower and how Joe was already there when he got up. Egg thought that Joe had landed in some magical lava and turned into a dragon. But that was done and all of us just wanted to go home. As we were flying higher and higher into the sky, it got really really bright and suddenly we were back in the ice cream shop. It seemed like life had just gone on while we were gone. The parlor was full of people and there were missing signs for all of us. We knew what happened but we all silently agreed to never speak of this to another person that didn’t experience it. After I got home and sorted everything out with my parents, I went up to my room and thought, why did this just happen to us? 

`Are there others who have experienced the same things we did? I hope I can meet them some day. But I am just happy that everyone is home safe, including Joe (even though he tried to kill us in dragon form), and I hope that I never have to do anything like that again.
