~Amara Freeman Jr, Class of 2025
Fire, rain, lightning!
House burned in wet cold ashes,
soaked in water.
Why? What did we do?
It was all good?
We had it all.
Now, I was empty, lonely.
No one to help me, but my family.
I was a sad little hole calling to be filled.
Did not know what’s next.
Then I felt it, hope.
At the tips of my fingers.
It was like a loose rusty nail.
Just barely holding on,
Keeping everything together.
I kept reaching and reaching.
I grabbed it.
The feeling was amazing.
Big news!
We got the house.
Tears of joy ran down my face.
It was a place of no other
I finally found it
A home
Keep reaching
because He is
hope.
