~Dante Dibenedetto, Class of 2025
In the quiet, sleepy town of Meadowbrook, something peculiar was about to happen. Late one evening, as the stars twinkled in the vast night sky, a strange object streaked across the heavens, landing softly in a nearby field.
The next morning, the townsfolk awoke to a sight they never expected to see: a large, silver spaceship burrowed among the tall grasses. The whole town buzzed with excitement and curiosity. People gathered around the perimeter of the field, staring wide-eyed at the sketchy craft.
Out from the ship emerged a group of aliens unlike anything anyone had ever seen before. They were small and green, with large, almond-shaped eyes and slender, green limbs. Despite their peculiar appearance, they give off a sense of friendliness and curiosity.
The leader of the aliens, a wise old being named Zorblat, stepped forward to address the stunned crowd. Through a device that translated their language into English, Zorblat explained that they had traveled from a distant planet in search of new friends and allies in the vast universe.
At first, the townsfolk were hesitant, unsure of what to make of these unexpected visitors. But as they spoke with Zorblat and the other aliens, they quickly realized that they had nothing to fear. The aliens were peaceful explorers, excited to learn about Earth and its inhabitants.
Over the following days, the aliens and the townsfolk formed a weird but strong bond. They shared meals together, exchanged stories, and even taught each other a few words of their own languages. The children of Meadowbrook were particularly happy with their new alien friends, who entertained them with tales of distant galaxies and incredible adventures.
As the days turned into weeks, the relationship between the aliens and the townsfolk deepened. Zorblat and his crew shared their knowledge of advanced technology with the people of Meadowbrook, helping them solve problems and improve their way of life. In return, the townsfolk welcomed the aliens with open arms, showing them the true beauty of Earth and the warmth of human friendship.
But as much as they had grown to love Meadowbrook and its people, the time eventually came for Zorblat and his crew to return to their home. With heavy hearts, the townsfolk said their goodbyes to their alien friends, promising to always remember the incredible bond they had shared. As the spaceship lifted off into the sky and disappeared among the sparkling stars, the people of Meadowbrook felt a sense of sadness mixed with gratitude.
Suddenly one of the townsfolk turned around to an infant-like sound. The townsfolk screamed with surprise, and everyone else turned around to see what all the commotion was about. Sitting there was a small creature laying in the dirt, with green skin, and a huge head resting on top of its small bony shoulders. The creature was covered in a blue sticky substance that seemed like a kind of slime that newborn cows often get after just being pushed out of their mothers after birth. After a good 5 minutes of just spectating the creature one brave townsfolk walked over and picked up the creature as it was continuing to scream like a baby.
By now the townsfolk could very much tell that it was not a baby cow and was a baby exterrestrial being. It was very clear to why the aliens left their newly born baby with them and that was because they had begun to trust the people. But that couldn’t be it, there had to be another reason why they would just leave their new born with the people instead of taking it back home? The suddenly there was a huge boom!
Everyone turned around from the creature and looked into the night sky, and that is when they all understood why the alien left their newborn with them. Giant streak’s of light were shedding through the sky as metal parts started falling at rapid pace back down to earth. The aliens had left their newborn with people they trusted becuase they new that they would not have enough fuel to go back to their homes. That left the people to wonder though, why wouldn’t the other aliens just stay there as well?
Though their time together had been brief, the impact of the aliens’ visit would stay with them forever, reminding them that friendship knows no bounds, even across the far reaches of space and now they will be able to have another alien friend.
