~Cooper Low, Class of 2025
When I lose a game it’s like a dagger stabbed you right in the heart
to see the opponent win
It stings like a scorpion,
to leave the game knowing that you gave it your all
And still lost
It sucked
Losing a game where you know
You should’ve won
The biggest tournament of the year,
And just like that,
We’re eliminated.
All that hard work leading up to that point
Is funneling down the drain
Losing can push you harder so you
Don’t have that terrible feeling again
It teaches you lessons that winning will never teach you
Some kids you play will be as tall as an oak tree,
Some as skinny as a ramen noodle,
Or as big as a grown man.
But it doesn’t matter.
No excuses
Practice, practice, practice.
Practice is the key to winning as a team.
You win games as a team,
And you lose games as a team.
you get better as a team.
This is why you practice.
When you win that first game,
You know how great it feels,
But you also know how it feels to lose
You have to work harder to have that sense of victory.
Wow Cooper, another great post! I loved your figurative language. It was cool to hear how you bounced back. Nice Job!

Awesome! Everyone hates losing but the way you talked about rebounding after it is amazing.
