~Ray Lee, Class of 2028
It all started here in Plum Island, Massachusetts. I had been coming here for around 3 years and nothing like this ever happened before.
Everything was normal except for the weather. It was colder. I was just playing in the ocean and once I got back to land I saw it: a huge blue curve about to hit me.
Once it did hit me I was like oh !#%^****
So anyway, I was being swallowed and strangled alive by the 15 foot tall wave. I was asking myself, am I going to die?
But I got out of the wave but then sucked into another wave
Oh !#%^**** not again.
So before I could get out of that wave another wave crashed on top
I was like will I get sucked into the ocean? what will happen to me? will I even end up in the belly of a great white shark?
So while I was fighting for my life my dad (trying to grab me but was failing) looked soooo worried
After a minute or two, Two men pulled me out. They looked like twins from head to toe
When I looked behind me I saw the whole beach was flooded with like 1,000 gallons of water, people lost beach chairs , sunglasses like my dad’s and much more that I should not mention for school appropriate reasons.
The next day I saw my brother boogie boarding where it happened. My dad saw me and said “do you want to go out there?”
And I was like heck no
After an hour I decided to go boogie boarding and I never had so much fun in my life.
So after that monster I realized I should never ever go in the water at high HIGH tide. Then I came home and saw baby birds in a nest on a big shrub. And it was magical seeing the baby robins being fed. I have been watching the birds for the past week and a half. And seeing them hatched was amazing. So I figured I’d have to trust what I loved and it’s always been working.
