~James Blum, Class of 2029

“Big game today James,” my dad said. I shook my head in agreement. We were in Winchester with my hockey team since we didn’t have enough players there were some call ups so that we could still play. I bumped fists with my best friend Cyrus. He was on the left side of me when I played offense we gathered round the coach for his pregame speech then we hit the ice 

I was pretty nervous because we were coming out of a tough loss and I started out at defense and as I skated to my position I noticed that there center was as big as a truck but I didn’t have time to think because 12th ref blew the whistle and dropped the puck then the huge guy got it and went for goal.

 Then I knew that the game would be tough and there guy would always use his body cut towards the middle.Andy hit the puck out the zone and we raced to get the puck after that I got subbed of off and they scored just before the buzzer and we went off I asked to be put at offense and he let me.I got onto the ice and got the face off I won the puck and  hit it into the zone we raced to get it .I got the puck in the corner and smacked it in Sam just missed the shot.

 I quickly got subbed off. Luckily David saved us by scoring a quick goal but then the other team scored again. It was their second goal and the time in the second was running out. I hopped off the bench and the ref dropped the puck then Cyrus hit it to me. I dribbled towards the goal passing the blue line I quickly shot the puck the goalie went to save it and that put him out of position and Ryan scored the one timer it tied up the game and the ref signaled end of period. 

I skated off the ice I decided to keep playing offense it was tied up at two a piece and we hoped to get a quick goal to take the lead unfortunately they scored twice and just like that we were down by two then david got the puck and quickly passed it to me I stickhandled the puck past one of the defenders then another one popped up in front of me luckily I hit Cy with a pass we scored! 

Then David scored. We were within the two minute mark but we got cocky and let in the game winning goal.
