At The Boston Area Gleaners, our mission is to help support a well-built system of finding and recruiting volunteers. The Boston area Gleaners use volunteers to save surpluses of crops left on farms to help reduce food waste and ensure access to freshly nutritious fruits and vegetables for those in need. We believe in the power of a community and that we can unite a community to fight against hunger and food insecurity. To achieve this, we will use the technology available to recruit volunteers.

We will help to collaborate with schools and organizations to spread awareness about the importance of volunteers to the Boston Area Gleaners. The goal is to find good partners to work with in order to recruit volunteers. 

We will engage potential volunteers that fit our demographic through the BAG website and social media. It will help us connect with a younger audience. This is a good audience to reach for spreading information and overall engagement across the whole community. Although many people don’t know what the Boston Area Gleaners do, our goal is to spread awareness about what the Boston Area Gleaners do so that everyone in our community can make an impact.
