The Ups and Downs

Everything is easier when you work together.

This project makes me ponder about how my first week of the Capstone project. Overall, this week felt like a journey. It started off on Tuesday where my thoughts on the Capstone Project have felt like it was pretty straight-forward. I know what goal I have to meet by the end of this project. It’s just that I have to do a lot of work.

My group is Eastie Farm, and Elijah, John, Finn, and Jack are all in my group, and today we sent an email to Joel, who is the guy from Eastie Farm helping us with the project, about the dates of our TED Talk and also the date where we will have a Zoom call with him where he’ll give us some advice and our next steps.

My group and I also started working on our infographic and started brainstorming and talking about what we remembered from our book, The Parable Sower, because the whole group kind of forgot most of the book.

I feel pretty comfortable with my organization as well. I feel like all the information I have about this capstone is in one folder because the teachers were very helpful.

I am hopeful for what comes next and excited to do this project because I know I will feel good about myself when I’m done.I also have many questions about this project, and I don’t expect what will come next.

This Friday felt like a productive day for the Capstone project.. We emailed Joel, the guy from Eastie Farm, and told him that we could zoom in on May 16th from 12-1. This week, it was very hard to get work done as a group because it felt like there were always a couple of people out every day. Except one day we had the whole group, and we got a lot of work done. We finished the infographic and finished our mission statement.

It was kind of annoying that when we were researching UN SDG number 11, then 20 minutes into the research, we were told to change it, even though the teachers told us to do UN SDG number 11. So now my group and I have to switch to UN SDG number 2.

I wonder what we will do next week. Hopefully it’s some stuff that’s not too time-consuming. I do appreciate how much help I get from the teachers. Even if the teachers don’t totally know what they’re doing there, they’re still trying their best to help. There were also some points where teachers tried to help, but it just confused me even more. I hope this capstone project works out for the best.
