Mission Statement
For our Capstone Project, we were partnered with an organization called Mass Audubon, a non-profit organization in Massachusetts that’s goal is to protect the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife.
Mass Audubon recently received a new donation in 2019 of 143 acres beside the Concord River. They asked us to work on ideas for the only meadow on the property.
We have two different options: we can either keep the meadow that is already there and mow it every couple months, or we could let it grow back into forest like the rest of the property.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to spread awareness of the cemetery where deceased prisoners are buried. We believe this is important because the stories of many of the people buried here are lost, and we want to make sure they are not forgotten. We want to give as much information as possible about the stories of these people, and it’s extremely difficult without any people seeing or hearing about it.
To spread awareness, we will use social media, flyers, websites, and more to make finding and learning about the cemetery as easy as possible.
Mission Statement
How can we spread awareness about the work of small greenhouses and farms in East Boston through the creation of a virtual tour?
Our mission is to spread awareness throughout the three self-sustainable farm locations in East Boston.
We plan to use a Virtual Tour app to create videos, explanations, and diagrams on how the Greenhouse Farm works. Since East Boston has a large population of Spanish speakers, we plan to make the tours in Spanish as well.
We also plan to make QR codes all around the main Greenhouse, to once again teach the visitors the reason these farms started and their cause and effect on east Boston.
Mission Statement
At The Boston Area Gleaners, our mission is to help support a well-built system of finding and recruiting volunteers. The Boston area gleaners use volunteers to save surpluses of crops left on farms to help reduce food waste and ensure access to freshly nutritious fruits and vegetables for those in need. We believe in the power of a community and that we can unite a community to fight against hunger and food insecurity. To achieve this, we will use the technology available to recruit volunteers. We will help to collaborate with schools and organizations to spread awareness about the importance of volunteers to the Boston Area Gleaners. The goal is to find good partners to work with in order to recruit volunteers.
We will engage potential volunteers that fit our demographic through the BAG website and social media. It will help us connect with a younger audience. This is a good audience to reach for spreading information and overall engagement across the whole community. Although many people don’t know what the Boston Area Gleaners do, our goal is to spread awareness about what the Boston Area Gleaners do so that everyone in our community can make an impact.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to help IFSI collect more detailed information for new immigrants. We are focusing on spreading awareness on how to gain access to education, healthcare, and citizenship through the use of a website with gathered information.
These processes are crucial to new immigrants and will help them gain confidence, access to crucial living needs, and a new life
